About Me

I was born and raised in New York City where my parents, one English and one Uzbek, had immigrated.  I have a little sister (to whom I dedicate my work) and my chosen family is from all over. I graduated from Stuyvesant High School a year early then did the same at Hunter College, double majoring in Computer Science and Sociology (as well as enjoyably minoring in English).

I’m now a doctoral student in Anthropology at the CUNY Graduate Center. I’m also currently a member of the Palante Technology Cooperative.

I’m unashamedly committed to social justice in all forms. My particular expertise, academic and professional, is LGBTQ+ causes as I’m proudly a lesbian, trans woman, and straight as a corkscrew in a tornado. When I’m not working, I’m usually volunteering around the city and my local community.

I’ve been coding for most of my life at this point and began doing so professionally at fourteen. I love that I can look back on a long track record of helping a variety of people and organizations better the world! When I’m not busy with work or volunteering, I’m spending time with my loved ones and cats, playing guitar, and occasionally writing poetry.

We have to do it because we can no longer stay invisible. We have to be visible. We should not be ashamed of who we are.
